Welcome to
Peaceful Pixels Photography! My name is Christy, and I'm from Alberta, Canada. Although I officially work as a medical transcriptionist, photography is a special passion of mine. I love the beauty of nature. My wish is to encourage others to pause for a moment and consider the beauty of our surroundings.
I became interested in photography during childhood. As a teenager, I enjoyed taking snapshots during family holidays. Sadly, my photography hobby then lay dormant for many years.
In 2003 my grandfather received a Canon Powershot A200 digital camera. However, my grandfather doesn't have a computer for saving digital photographs; so he passed the camera along to me. I was thrilled to rediscover my interest in photography. And combining it with another favorite hobby (the computer and internet) has also been wonderful fun. At first I shared only a few photos with my friends at online message boards. As time went by, my collection of photos grew, and I decided to gather all my photography together in an online gallery.
Peaceful Pixels was born in December 2003.
Currently I use a Kodak DX7630 digital camera. I enjoy photographing the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the Rocky Mountains in Canada, as well as the Canadian Pacific Railway.
